Getting in the Spirit: Halloween 2020

Happy October 1st!!

October officially means the season of all things spooky is upon us! Today also happens to be my dad’s birthday, so that’s definitely something we’re celebrating as well!

Halloween 2020 is definitely going to be an interesting one due to the COVID pandemic, but regardless, I think we should all find a way to celebrate each and every holiday in some form- however small that may be. If you’re feeling bummed out about no trick or treating, missing out on your normal haunted house visits, or meeting friends at the annual Halloween Horror Nights event, I challenge you to do something different and find a way to commemorate the month no matter what! Here are some fun ideas to get you started!

+ Decorate your house : you can do this DIY and have a craft day or go on a little shopping spree for some fun stuff to spook up your space!

+ Carve/ Paint Pumpkins : lets be honest, sometimes carving can get a little messy and painting makes an awesome alternative!

+ Have a Halloween movie marathon : read my favorite Halloween movies here.

+ DIY your Halloween costume : tons of inspo here, here, and here.

+ Visit a Haunted House : I know of a few places that are doing drive- thru haunts. There’s the Urban Legends Haunt in the OC and then the LA Haunted Hayride has transformed their usual walk through attraction to one that is drive- thru friendly as well. Rather than paying per person for a ticket, you pay per car. You can search your area to see if anything like this is happening around you!

+ Drink a PSL : if you’ve held out on the pumpkin treats all September, I think October is officially the time to cave and treat yourself to some pumpkin amazingness!

Till next time!
