I’m one of those people that definitely likes to decorate the house for the season and for whatever holiday is happening. But, I definitely like to make my decor flow with things I already have out all year round- like photos and candles. I don’t like anything cheesy or super obvious either. And I add to my decor collection every year, so I am not buying new stuff in bulk and spending a ton of money on new stuff all at once. I started with a Halloween theme a couple years ago and then whenever I’m running errands, I stop by Michaels, Target, or Home Goods and just browse to see what they have that might add to what I already have. I think that’s the secret to not spending $$$$ every year for certain holidays. Pick a theme one year and then stick to it. The theme I’ve gone with for Halloween is skeletons and skulls.
I’m a big Pirates of the Caribbean fan so it’s been fun for me having the whole skull vibe going on throughout the house in October! The most fun thing for me to do is decorate my bookcases, I have two that sit on each side of our couch, and this weekend I finally had a chance to decorate them both, even adding a few pieces that I picked up this morning from Michael’s!
I absolutely love curling up on the couch to watch my favorite Halloween movies with my babe, especially when our living room is all spooky and decorated so fun!
Do any of you decorate for Halloween? I want to see your decorations! Happy Halloween friends! If you have any questions about where any of the items are from, I’ll answer them in the comments!
xoxo,
Amanda
