I literally cannot begin to even describe how happy I am to be sitting here writing this! I’ve had my little activity to do list planned in my day planner for MONTHS just waiting for Fall to finally arrive. For me, honestly fall starts the last week of August. Sorry to all you summer lovers out there, but Fall is just it for me. I’ve already actually already decorated our house and I can’t wait to share all the subtle additions (post to come!)
This year, we’re going to be adding to a few new traditions that we started with Avery last year and are also planning on picking some back up that we skipped over the past few years because of the pandemic. Without further ado, here are all the fun things we have planned (so far) to really soak up my favorite season!
+ Visit Julian, CA : last year was our first time and it was so much fun! Walking through and trying all their home made apple ciders and coming home with their world famous apple pies made for the perfect fall day! We’re going to make this a yearly tradition with Avery!
+ Apple Picking : we didn’t end up going last year but went a few years ago and had a blast. I think this year Avery will have fun picking up apples and throwing them in a basket! We’ll see how it all pans out but apple picking is also on our to do list this season. If you’re interested in apple picking I’d look up local apple farms and see when their season begins, you don’t want to miss out!
+ Fantasy Football : every year we do a Fantasy Football league at work and it’s so fun. Our draft this year is actually tonight and I’ve already got some picks lined up! (GO BRONCOS!!)
+ Disneyland : I mean DUH. It’s my favorite time to visit. I’m going to keep a log of all the pumpkin flavored treats we try!
+ Pumpkin Patch: visiting a pumpkin patch is seriously one of my favorite fall activities. I love the whole vibe of picking out pumpkins, train rides, churros, etc.
+ Sip a pumpkin spice latte : ahhhh I can almost taste it!And the pumpkin cream cold brew?!? I’ve already had 3!
+ Light AAAALLLLLLL the fall candles: okay, I already cheated and started a vanilla spice candle and it’s got me all excited to burn through all the fall scents!
+ DIY costumes : every year we DIY our Halloween costumes. I’m SO excited to start making ours for this year!
+ Trader Joes pumpkin haul : 2 years ago we did a huge Trader Joes haul and filmed it for our podcast. We tried all their pumpkin flavored foods and it was so much fun. We probably won’t be buying as much this year, but I’m excited for TJ’s to start rolling out the Fall snacks!
+ Vist Roger’s Gardens Halloween Boo-tique : Every year Roger’s Gardens in Newport does a themed Halloween boutique. So for the past 3 years we’ve gone and are so excited to go this year! So far the themes we’ve seen are : A Vintage Halloween (Dracula, Frankenstein, & The Mummy themed), Pirates and Creatures of the Deep, and Malice in Wonderland. I can’t wait to see what the theme is this year!
