Happy second day of 2020 friends!!!
Can you believe we’re embarking on a new decade? To really close out this year with a bang, my family and I decided to do a little family night out at Descanso Gardens, a garden attraction located in Pasadena, CA.
Even though Joey and I lived in Pasadena, I’d never been to check it out, but had always heard great things. My mom actually found out about the special “Enchanted Forest” exhibit online and planned the whole thing.
If you read my New Years’ Resolutions post, you know that one of my resolutions is to spend more time doing activities with family. This little get together was a great way to start that off! We had the best time walking around and enjoying the lights, sipping hot cocoa, and even eating beignets! If you’re local to Southern California, I definitely recommend checking out the Enchanted Forest next year! But you have to book fast because tickets sell out quick and it runs for a limited time. We actually waited too long to reserve our tickets and ended up having an 8:30 pm arrival time on a Sunday night. Not the most ideal for those of us who had to work the next morning, but still totally worth it.
There’s 10 different interactive, unique light show areas and some even play music. The garden in the photos above, changed color according to the music that was played in the background. It was a nice, peaceful chime like song that played and it was absolutely beautiful seeing the tulips change in a wave of colors.
The light exhibits were all so stunning and so unique. Walking through the entire property had me feeling like I was literally in an Enchanted Forest. If you’ve seen Once Upon a Time, I swear I was like Emma Swan walking through this place! It was such an amazing experience and just so beautiful. I’m so happy we got to experience it has one big family.
For more information about the gardens, you can follow this link here!
They are open year round but do different exhibits for different seasons, the Enchanted Forest only runs through the holiday season.
Hope you enjoyed!
xoxo,
Amanda
