This past weekend Joey and I had the opportunity to go to the Irwindale Speedway  (thanks to his amazing parents) to watch the car races! I was also lucky enough to get to sit inside one of the race cars, and let me be the first to tell you, those seats ARE NOT comfortable in the slightest! And it’s so hot in there with the big bulky helmets on too (I’ve no idea how the drivers drive in those conditions)!

I’d never been to the Speedway before and Joey, having grown up nearby, went all the time as a kid. For awhile there were rumors going around that they were even going to shut it all down, to which I was super paranoid about because I really wanted to go and experience the races with Joey before they closed down for good.

Luckily, the race track is under new ownership and the races are going to continue to run!

We had such an amazing time! And the cars are SO loud! I was not expecting the motors to be literally, SO LOUD, like loud enough that as the cars race by, the stands rattle and vibrate!Have any of you ever been to any type of car racing before??
