The Devil Wears Prada is literally one of my all time favorite movies. I could watch it over and over again, it’s such a comfort movie for me! I love it- the fashion, watching these women hustle in their industries, the beauty, the whole world they’ve created in the movie is so amazing and so fascinating. If I was rating the first movie, I’d give it a 10/10.

I cannot believe it’s been 20 years since the first movie came out, I feel like it’s still such a relevant and new movie. Time really does fly, doesn’t it?

When the date was announced of when the second one was coming out, it was an immediate, “let’s plan a girls night” situation for me. So this weekend, my girlfriend and I went to see it (albeit a little later at night because well, we had to do bedtime routines first LOL). But we got there with our popcorn and Ollipop sodas in tow!

I’ve seen mixed reviews of the movie- I for one loved it. I think they did a great job playing homage to the original, staying true to the original characters and creating great growth and character arcs as well. I was wondering how they would show that it’s been 20 years for these characters and I think they did a great job bridging the gap and creating a story where you know what they’ve been up too.

I will say, I feel like they humanized Miranda Priestly’s character a bit more, kinda straying from the whole villian vibe of the first movie. What they did to Emily’s character though?? That was a little out of left field for me, but in they end they tied everything up nicely.

I’d give the second movie an 8/10. Loved it, but I actually lived for the villian in Miranda Priestly and that didn’t hit as hard this go around. She’ll always be iconic though no matter what! It’s hard to give a full review without giving away spoilers, so maybe I’ll circle back in a few months once enough time has passed, but if you liked the first one, DEFINITELY see the second one! It makes for a very nice girls night out!
