So, to say I didn’t read half as much as I wanted to is an understatement. BUT here are my reviews for the books I did read!
+ Devil in the White City by Erik Larson : 10/10 : Could not stop reading and looking up all the historical locations and people the book talked about. If you’re a history nerd that enjoys a slight murder mystery intwined, this is a book for you. But it is 1000% true, and everything actually happened- so if that’s going to weird you out, definitely skip it.
+ Oh Crap! Potty Training by Jamie Glowacki : 10/10 : I wouldn’t call this a pleasure read, but it definitely simplified and helped me understand potty training! It was the most recommended book to read prior to taking on the daunting task of potty training and it delivers on the hype!
+ Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement by Kevin Gillmartin : 9/10 : Another book that came highly recommended for me to read. I give it a 9/10 simply because some of the issues discussed were absolutely not enjoyable for me to read, but I’m definitely like the poster child for the saying “Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail”, so being prepared for anything is in my DNA and reading this was a must for me. I’d also highly recommend it to anyone who is entering law enforcement or for anyone who has someone they care about in law enforcement.
In summary, I accomplished 50% of what I set out to do the beginning of the year LOL. But to be fair, 2022 was a year of adjustments and life changes, all routine and plans were cautiously thrown to the wind. But now that we’re more settled into some form of normalcy, I can’t wait to jump back into reading more for 2023!
I already have 4 books lined up, any recommendations for more?
