Simple Tasks to make you feel Productive on your Laziest of Days

I love a good lazy day, spent on the couch in my pjs all day binge watching anything on Netflix. But those days are only fun when you actually plan on being lazy and are looking forward to a day of doing absolutely nothing. What do you do when you didn’t necessarily plan that perfect lazy day and aren’t in the mood to do much of anything? I’ve had a few of those days too, especially during this pandemic.

Those are the days where it’s rough. You don’t want to be lazy but don’t have the motivation to tackle your to-do list. If you find yourself having one of those “off” days, here’s what helps me still feel somewhat productive (even if I happen to leave the to-do list on the counter and scrapped the dishes and laundry for the day).

+ Go for a walk. So I’m not in the mood to do a full blown workout. Going for a walk outside, even if only for 10 minutes helps. Getting outdoors makes all the difference and moving your body will help boost your mood even on your laziest day!

+ Read a chapter of a book. Even if I sat on the couch all day, if I at least read something, it makes me feel like I accomplished something. And the best part is, you can read on the couch! So you’re relaxing and being productive- WIN WIN.

+ Make yourself coffee/tea/hot chocolate. Or go buy one. There’s something about having a cup of something in the morning that always makes me feel better (especially if it’s a chai tea!) If I know I’m having an off day, having something to drink first thing keeps my spirits up!

+ Don’t guilt trip yourself. Everyone has an off day. Remind yourself that you don’t always have to be “on.” This is definitely hard for me, but I try to remind myself to be easy on myself and take everything day by day. There’s nothing on my to-do that absolutely HAS to get done within a 24 hour period- so if I need some down-time, I let myself have it and more importantly- don’t guilt myself about it!

+ Listen to a Podcast. You can listen to ours here! Podcasts are a fun way to learn something new or make you feel like you’re interacting with the world even when you really don’t want too.

+ Put some moisturizer on. Even if the last thing I want to do is look in the mirror and apply skincare/makeup, at least putting some moisturizer on in the morning helps me feel like I did something good for my skin! And that certainly feels productive to me!

+ Drink water! Okay, if you’ve rolled your eyes at every other suggestion, here’s the big one! Try to drink as much water as you can. When I drink a TON of water throughout the day, I feel better and more productive. The days when I don’t drink a lot of water I feel like shit and like I couldn’t do the easiest thing in the world.

Well, do you have any suggestions or tips on what you do to help yourself feel more productive? Even when being productive is the last thing on your mind? Let me know in the comments!
