I got a few comments after my last post about what day planner I use, how I use it, what I write down, etc. So I thought I’d do a little post here while everyone is still committed to being more organized for the new year!
My husband and I share a Google calendar but to be honest, that’s more for his use because I never use it unless I’m putting an event in specifically to notify him lol. I’m old school and like writing things down physically and if I can’t see it in my day planner when I open up the month’s view– it isn’t happening!
I use a Sugar Paper day planner and it runs my life. One of my favorite Sunday rituals is getting in bed and writing down what I need to accomplish for the week ahead and writing down the to-do list for each day that week. I break down my work-outs, what days are run days vs lifts, what days I’m working that week, if I have volunteering at Avery’s school that week, what days the kids have practices/lessons, grocery days (including the grocery list), if there’s any party crafting that needs to be done, etc. Then at month’s end, I go through and jot down everything that I know is coming up for the next month- birthday parties, disney days, play dates, etc. Then on the daily pages, I check off what I finished or completed that I wanted to get done by that day and if I didn’t get to it, I leave it for the next day! Doing things this way might be a little OCD, but it helps me stay organized and also not feel overwhelmed if a week is super busy, breaking it down day to day makes it doable and less stressful if you spread things out and knock your to-do list off one day at a time!
I also like choosing a day planner and customizing it a bit myself 🙂 I usually find a plain one that I like and then decorate it with stickers myself, and they’re usually disney stickers of some form because I like my day planner to bring me joy! Hence, the photo above, I just bought a plain day planner and added the princess stickers myself.
My day planner is sold out (it was a 2025 version) but I’m linking a similar one that looks like it has the same page layout as mine. Posting some examples from my day planner below!

I hope sharing inspires you to get a day planner and have some fun planning your day to day activities!
