HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

It is my favorite holiday of the year!!! Which means I’m obviously ecstatic but also so sad because at the end of the night, it’s officially over- although, I do get one more month of FALL!!! Christmas in our house doesn’t start till Thanksgiving lol- sorry Caitlin!!!

At the time that this post will go live, we will actually be getting back from our family vacation, most likely ready to rot on the couch for the remainder of the day before all the trick or treating festivities begin!!

Before I reveal to you our costumes for this year, I would just like to make it known that I have lost complete control over our costumes- Avery (my almost 5 year old) now holds all creative control and decided on these costumes 6 months ago and obviously momma got to work. And while the costume theme is a little on brand for me (it is one of my favorite movies lol), I would not have picked it as a costume, that’s for sure. I like a little bit more of an aesthetic okay people? But nonetheless, I’ve given control over to a ~5 year old and here we are.

Without further ado, I give you- THE GREATEST FAIRY TALE NEVER TOLD.

Shrek Costume

+ Renaissance Costume Shirt

+ Vest : bought this one, cut it shorter and then painted the wooden texture on it ourselves.

+ Fake belly : ours is currently sold out, but here’s something similar!

+ Belt : used one we already had.

+ Pants : Joey refused to wear leggings you guys, I tried.

+ Face Paint : honestly the perfect ogre color!

+ Ogre ears

+ Hair spray : obviously forced Joey to also spray paint his hair lol

Lord Farquaad Costume

+ Red Puff Sleeve Dress : bought this dress and then painted the sleeves and designs on the top and bottom myself.

+ Beret hat

+ Black bob wig

+ Black Mesh Top underneath dress

+ Red Gloves

+ Red Cape

+ Belt

+ Black Tights : used ones I already had!

+ Boots : bought these actually 2 years ago!

+ Necklace : okay, the one I’m wearing is actually my Grandmother’s and it does have crystals in it, I keep it in a very safe place but knew I had to wear it for the costume!

Princess Fiona Costume

+ Dress : bought this dress and we painted the gold design and belt ourselves. It game with a detachable bow which we did not use.

+ Wig

+ Hair Scrunchies : added these to the top and bottom of the braid on the wig

+ Green Shoes

+ Gold Crown : bought this pack of three!

Donkey Costume

+ Donkey costume : this is the one we bought, however it was available via Amazon at the time I ordered it (months ago), now (at time of posting) it’s unavailable on Amazon.
