Life right now, is pretty great I have to say. We’re having our baby shower this weekend and I’m so excited! We went smaller than the usual parties I tend to throw and that has me feeling a little more relaxed than I usually am T-7 days prior to an event. And yeah, I know- Natalie and Carissa, you’re rolling your eyes at my use of the word smaller, but I swear it really is!!
I’m starting to really slow things down as we prepare for baby boy’s arrival and nesting has become my main focus as of late. Getting the nursery ready is all encompassing and is equal parts stress and fun! Fun designing and buying things, stress for the waiting and choosing of furniture (which I hate). Of course I’ll share more details on that once I’ve got it all completed!
Because we’re giving baby boy Avery’s crib, we moved her into a big girl bed and she absolutely LOVES it and (knock on wood) we haven’t had any issues with her getting out of bed! I’ll do a recap of her big girl room soon too! And to be completely honest, I was more excited about transforming her room than I was with starting the nursery LOL. I’m sorry baby boy, but I swear your room is going to be equally as cute and fun!!
When it comes to pregnancy, as with my last pregnancy, I have not enjoyed it to say the least. And at this point (third trimester), I’m really ready to be done with it. If you haven’t read my thoughts on pregnancy before, there’s an entire tab dedicated to my experience on the home page of my blog. But to sum it up- I am NOT the girl who loves being pregnant. I literally loathe it. I know it’s a blessing and I know it’s a miracle and all those things, and I completely agree that the entire process IS a miracle, but it just isn’t my cup of tea. If you didn’t get an adorable little baby at the end of it, I’d question whether or not it was even worth it LOL (but thankfully, I know that it is worth it, which is why we’re here with baby #2). I’ll get into my current pregnancy thoughts in a separate post, but it is completely dominating my life right now and I really don’t have the energy or desire for much else- which has me turning down a lot of social gatherings and outings at the moment. Luckily, I’ve got some pretty great friends and family that understand : )
Avery recently started gymnastics which she is LOVING! Her dance class ended and she actually did not end up liking it as much as we had thought. She was great for the first 10-15 minutes and then was just over it every time. I think something about ballet was just too slow and not engaging enough for her. Gymnastics on the other hand, is definitely more her speed! She’s having so much fun!
Work for me is not slowing down just yet, I have about 3-4 more weeks before I’m going to be working remote, which is what I’ll do until I have the baby, and then maternity leave will officially begin!
Well, that’s about it for my little life update! Anything new with you?

Can’t wait to see Avery’s new room and the nursery! I love seeing how people design their homes. ā¤ļø
I just got back from spring breaking in Belize. Now planning out the details of our trip to Portland, OR at the end of June. My birthday is next week, but no plans as of yet. Maybe dinner somewhere different…? I asked for an air purifier for my birthday; sounds like something a soon to be 32 year old would ask for, doesn’t it. š
