So with my first pregnancy, as I went through each trimester, I wrote notes to myself- little thoughts I had as they came so that I could look back on and laugh (or cry) LOL. I did it this go around as well. And here’s everything I wrote down throughout my first 3 months of pregnancy!
+ pro tip: don’t get pregnant/at least don’t be in your first trimester during your favorite time of year- my strongest aversion is to all things pumpkin and it’s living in a nightmare for me. Not being able to stomach my beloved pumpkin chai is the world’s worst prank.
+ everyone says it’s easier the second time around- I’m calling bullshit. At least so far. The nausea/fatigue is the same and is an all day thing and not being able to rest whenever I want/need too because I’m chasing a toddler around is next level superhero shit that I am somehow rocking.
+ nap when baby naps has never been a real statement for me until now- never napped while Avery did during the newborn stage but now, any nap I can conjure up with Avery, I am cuddled back into bed as well!
+ definitely “bumping” a hell of a lot sooner. Which made hiding things a little more complicated than the last time.
+ I said it the first time and I stand by it now- if you’re one of those women who can’t shut up about how much you LOVE being pregnant, I hate you.
+ I still think there should be some form of maternity leave for women during the first trimester because shhaaaaooooottttt working through this is TOUGH (unless of course you “love” being pregnant, then go to work and work overtime).
I’m well out of the first trimester now and am feeling SO much better, and for that I am eternally grateful!
Cheers to my second trimester!
