This past weekend we had the chance to feel like some real Laguna Beach locals and finally attend the famed Sawdust Art & Craft Festival. This year the festival is celebrating 52 years of hosting local artists and craftsman.
The festival is open every Summer, this year it opened on June 29th and will close September 2nd, and then reopens during the Winter season, for specific dates in November and December only. What the locals call the little “art village” is exactly that. It is like it’s own little town full of different booths boasting various artists work, an area for some local cafes, two different staged areas where you can sit and listen to music, and then spaces where you can learn how to make a pot, draw Chinese calligraphy, learn about glassblowing, etc. There is so much to do and see at the festival and we had a great time walking around. I even made my own little pot for some succulents! Watch the video above for some insight into that experience!

Amanda
Hi Amanda! The Festival looks awesome. Has all this been build up right at the beach?

It’s about a mile from the beach, closer to the mountains. But the actually have a free trolley that will take you from the festival to the beach and vice versa! 🙂
