On the road- Arizona here we come!

Our first day on the road was pretty planned out, for the most part, because we both really wanted to see the Grand Canyon and knew that would be our first stop.

And it did not disappoint one bit! Now of course, we have a new bucket list item, which is to see the Grand Canyon in the spring/summer when it is not covered in snow. Nonetheless we enjoyed it so much; we had a pretty a unique experience, especially coming from CA where there is virtually no snow.

On our way out, we came across a place called ‘Bearizona’ so decided to check it out. And if you have the chance, I definetly recommend it! I don’t remember how much we paid to get in, but it’s a drive through animal habitat filled with Rocky Mountain Goats (often hard to spot in the snow filled landscape), Alaskan Dall Sheep, Rocky Mountain Elk, Mule Deer, American Burros, Alaskan Tundra Wolves, Arctic Wolves, Black Bears, Bison, and Bighorn Sheep.

The wolves were probably the highlight/scariest part of the expedition. They walked right up to our car! It was surreal and made us really appreciate their beauty and size.

As we hit the road, it started snowing, which was absolutely beautiful.

Later that day, after some 7 hours of driving, we arrived in Albuqueque, New Mexico ready to hit the hay and get some rest!

Till tomorrow-

Amanda

  1. The southwest is so pretty with snow! (Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion, New Mexico, etc) Something about desert landscapes + snow is so unexpected and magical. I remember one Easter I was in Joshua Tree with my parents and it started snowing! The Joshua trees look so cool with snow 😀

  2. Oh my goodness, you two are too precious! Like I said before I’m seriously LOVING these posts, Arizona Grand Canyon has been in my top 3 places I’ve been dying to go to- those pictures just justified it even more for me. Although I’d want to go more so in the warm weather just because coming from New England, I’m over the cold weather haha Didn’t even know Bearizona was a thing, glad to know I can add that to the list!!
