A wonderful week with a best friend.

Lately I’ve been a little MIA (no pun intended), but that’s because one of my absolute best friends came to visit for a week and not a day was wasted! We spent all week running around, adventuring. So naturally, now I have A LOT to write about, so I’m going to break the week down in a few different posts.

Natalie, whom I’ve known since we were both 4/5 years old, arrived in beautiful Miami last Thursday evening and we literally hit the ground running. After allowing her to adjust and making a giant pizza for dinner, we prepped to drive to Walt Disney World on Friday morning. Orlando is about 4 hours away from us here in Miami, so we got up, packed suitcases, the cooler, made some lunch, hit Starbucks, and were on our way around noon.

I think because we were so excited, the drive didn’t seem longer than an hour. We planned and pinned nearly everything to make sure we didn’t miss anything. We were so excited to check into our hotel and check out the newly remodeled Disney Springs- which is literally amazing. I’m fighting myself with this, but have to admit, Disney Springs is so much better than what we have in California, which is known as Downtown Disney. For starters, it’s just so much bigger than ours and is filled with shops (other than Disney stores) and so many nice dining experiences that Downtown Disney just doesn’t offer.

There’s also small attractions at Disney Springs, for example you can pay to travel up in a hot air balloon, take a car out on the lake- yea, a literal car drives down a driveway straight into the water! They have bands playing around nearly every corner, a bowling alley, movie theatre, there’s so much going on, which makes an evening out so much fun. We all kept saying we wished we could stay another day just to explore Disney Springs another night.

We ended up eating at a place called The Boathouse. And it was absolutely delicious, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to eat around Disney Springs. They offer a wide variety of dishes, from fish, chicken, to all types of specialty cheeseburgers. And their drinks are to die for!

Now, if you know me, I absolutely love a good dessert cupcake, my absolute favorite being Sprinkles cupcakes.  When we moved to Florida I was so upset to find out that Sprinkles stores are only located on the West Coast! So for those of you out west- have a Sprinkles cupcake for me when you can! They are so so good. Luckily for me, Disney Springs has the ONLY Sprinkles on the East Coast. So naturally, immediately after dinner I had to rush over and get my fix of cupcakes!

The rest of the night was spent laughing way to hard, watching some performers, and spending wayyy too much money on Disney merchandise. #noregrets 🙂

Once we finished shopping, we headed back to the hotel and finished the night watching Disney’s The Jungle Book- the new live action one that is just amazing and a must see! Natalie and I could barely sleep we were so excited for the day to come!

If you ever have the chance to make it out to Orlando, I definetly recommend staying the night out there. We stayed at The Hilton and got a pretty good deal using TripAdvisor. The hotel was amazing and literally a 6 minute walk from Disney Springs. It could not have worked out better. If you’re interested, you can follow this LINK to find similiar/the same deal we did!

xoxo,

Amanda
